The WDSF operates a SNP typing service based on the SNuPe SNP Profiling system. The SNuPe reaction
extends the primer by a single nucleotide, adding a fluorescently
labelled reporter to the SNP site for subsequent detection.
The template requirements for SNP typing match those of the sequencing service excluding that
only PCR based templates can be tested.
SNP testing requires only a single unlabelled primer
specifically designed to be a single base upstream to the SNP of
interest.
- SNP typing requires primers at a concentration of 1nM/uL (1
micro molar)
- SNP primers must bind so that the SNP position is the base
immediately downstream of the binding location
Due to the nature of the SNP typing service, the minimum
number of reactions or run only samples we would prefer to run is 16.
