Banks, Jonathan (2005-2008). Co-evolution of Antarctic penguins and seals and their intestinal flora. (Currently lecturer, Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Waikato)

Caballero, Susan (2006-2008). Phylogeny of New Zealand cetaceans. (Currently Assistant Professor, Universidad de los Andes, Bogota, Columbia)

Haase, Martin (2003-2005).  Phylogeny of New Zealand hydrobiid snails. (currently Director, Zoologisches Institut und Museum, Universität Greifswald, Germany)

Stevens, Mark I (2002).  Population genetic structures and dispersal patterns of arthropods in New Zealand and the Ross Dependency Antarctica.(Recently appointed as a Curator of Entomology at the South Australia Museum)

Ellis, Rosanne J (2001). An assessment of endocrine disrupting potential of a New Zealand pulp and paper mill effluent using rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss and mosquitofish Gambusia affinis(Following graduation was a Research Scientist at the New Zealand Forest Research Institute – now SCION)
